As part of the 2019 d-day campaign that warlord is running they have released a 3 page mini supplement of rules for individual soldiers.

"For the purpose of this skirmish version, each man from a squad acts as a 'unit' and moves individually. These units do not have to stay in formation. When you prepare to play, your force gets one order die for each model it comprises of."

It also includes a new "force morale" mechanic similar to Chain Of Command.

"When your force has lost half or more of the models/ dice it started the game with, it has reached its breaking point. Whenever your force suffers a casualty from then on (including the casualty that caused your force to reach the breaking point), you must take a Break test."

Sounds like a bit of fun and I'm sure its been played this way plenty of times before in garages around the world. I will be interested to see if it plays out as a shorter game or not. Could be a gateway drug into the new "Raiders" game that's on the way.

Hi, this is an update of Dans current (May '19) "Reasonable Hobby Challenge"! as heard on our latest podcast!

This miniature featured in my top minis from 2018 as discussed in this podcast. In fact its not from 2018 at all it was released as the special edition miniature with the Bolt Action V2 German army book (2016?) as shown here. But I received it in 2018 so that good enough for me.

If you are a wargamer that games WWI, II or later and you live in Australia you *need* to go to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra at least once, I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was blown away here is part 1 of my photos Air-power.

Op Slapstick-Italy '43; The concluding second part of the mini campaign, German FJ vs British....

10 September, 1943. Operation "Slapstick".

• British Paratroopers from 156 Parachute Bn, having seized Key strategic points of entry into Mottola , now assault the German Fallschirmjager defenders in strength in what becomes a bloody battle for the town.
• Scenario; Meeting engagement. 1000pts per army.
• This mini campaign will utilise the rules for campaigns found in the Bolt Action; Battle of France sourcebook.

In theme with Budapest campaign release this week, a more sombre "Why we fight" photo.

The new Bolt Action Fortress Budapest Supplement is out now, I don't know anything abut this region and wasn't planning to purchase this book. 

However..., 15 min into this podcast interviewing Bryan Cook the author (and part of a team?) I have ordered. Another one to look forwrad to. :-)
